this was honestly a great week, a buddy of mine who I hadn’t seen in over a year came to visit b-ham for a couple of days. I had a blast seeing him and showing him around the arboretum and Chuckanut drive. it was also good to hang out with somebody new, I’ve been cooped up with my roommates for far too long 🙂 in addition to that I got to see a lot of family again this weekend which included moving my grandmother and celebrating my dads birthday. and I got to spend a lot of time with my baby brother ( having a brother and not living at home any more has been rough for me. I want to be apart of his life but its so difficult when i’m living up in Bellingham). all in all it was a great weak 🙂
What are you going to do to exceed the standards this quarter?
My team and I have been rehearsing our pitch since the last dress rehearsal and really looking at those pitch notes we were given. I’m super stoked with the progress we made this week. I feel like we really turned a rough draft into a final draft and I am pretty impressed with the work we’ve done this first quarter as  E1s.
Why does it matter to you?
Success in this class is very important to me, it’s the first class that ive actually gotten excited about in college and I want to be able to continue on this journey. I love the culture here and truly feel like I belong here. I genuinely know that everyday of class I am learning new things the will help me in my future. which is a new feeling for me I’ve never enjoyed learning in school as much as this.
Between now and Final Pitches, what traction steps do you need to make?
I think that we’ve done everything we can do up until this point, we did a few run throughs on the pitch and it went great. I think we have put together something really cool!
p.s.
I learned a new magic trick this week which has been the first new trick i’ve done in a while so here it is!
Hey Aidan,
So I tried to comment but it doesn’t allow a certain word so it got deleted. Its great that you had a friend come to visit! Did you take them to any beaches out on Chuckanut? I think one of the best ones is a man-made one near the end. I’m glad you are eager to find success in our class! I think that you will and I want updates! Maye do something cool with magic. Good luck!!

Aidan, this is so great! I am so happy that you feel like you belong and are apart of the culture here! Because you are, and we’re glad to have you. Anytime you want to talk to someone in this community, just reach out. Whether it is to get help, get a peer review, or simply to get to know someone and become friends, in this community everyone is here for everyone. One of the most valuable things which I love about this community is that people put their best foot forward because they want to, not because they have to. Your team seems to be a prime example of this, given all the work you have done this quarter, and all the effort you all put into rehearsing your pitch. It really shows, and THAT is something to be proud of. Sidenote, I have no clue how that trick works, that’s cool. It’s something I don’t know how to do and I truly would enjoy seeing more. Pretty quick way to impress people haha. Congrats again on your pitch, hard work paid off! Cheers, Bryan.
Aidan that is so cool! I love watching magic tricks! And I am so happy that you feel that your team is on track and doing well preparing for pitch. Being an E1 is overwhelming and chaotic, but it is also super rewarding to find people that want to learn beside you. I cannot wait to see what other things you are going to accomplish in the minor and outside of it! Keep going strong Aidan, we still have some work to be done, but you are so close to the finish line! And if you need any help, we are all here to help you!
As for missing out on being with your little brother, I feel that. I have a brother that is 7 years younger than me, and it sucks not being able to be there for him. I really hope you can find ways to be apart of his life and connect on different levels, even when he is annoying.
