One of the photo competitions I look forward to every year is Bellingham’s very own Essence of Bellingham. Sponsored by the Whatcom Museum and the City of Bellingham, each year students, amateurs, and professionals living in Bellingham/Whatcom County submit their shots that capture the essence of the city and county we love to live in.

Digital or scanned entries gathered over the previous year that capture the “essence” of Bellingham are showcased and added to a collection documenting Bellingham and the diverse nature of life in our city and county…Entries may appear in Whatcom Museum and City of Bellingham publications and in various places such as print, TV, and the Internet.

This year I was stoked to find out that three of my six submissions made Best of Subject (for professional class), and two made honorable mention.
