There is one big rule in baseball, it is to play hard and go home with a win. The theme of this is written right in the cartoon, any sports game is just like life, there are struggles that the people have to go through, there is always someone who is ahead of you and at the end, everything is all done with. This cartoon is very unique because the coach is telling the young ballplayers how baseball works and how life works at the same time. The style that is used in this cartoon is just a simple metaphor comparing baseball and life, it is a very simple metaphor yet very deep. It is simple enough that the kids in the cartoon may understand what the coach is talking about which is interesting. The cartoon is just one image but this image shows a lot of meaning, the metaphor can also be interpreted as how short life can be because before you know it, it’s suddenly over.
