Early Adopters – B9 Production Piloting
On Friday, September 28, 2018, the B9 Pilot Program was officially closed. We had over 170 very brave souls pioneer the new B9 landscape from June through September. Throughout this exploratory journey, pains and successes were shared and, most importantly, collaborative relationships with campus colleagues were strengthened through open dialogue and the possibility of new processes. I would especially like to congratulate staff in Accounting Services, ATUS Help Desk, Financial Aid, Grant Pre-Award Office, Human Resources, and the Student Business Office for their entire office adoption of B9 during the pilot period.
Modifications and Forms
Over the past several months, our EAS team, together with consultants from CampusWorks, worked hard on transforming 68 Western customizations needed in B9. Below are the current statistics.
|Customization in Production||37||54%|
|Customization in PPRD for Testing and/or Under Rework||21||32%|
|Currently under Development||6||8%|
Our database administrator is currently working on migrating Banner databases and servers to the new hardware. This migration will strengthen Banner’s overall performance, capacity and reliability. Our target is to complete this migration prior to October 23, 2018; however, our technical team is facing many variables and tasks, so the completion date is subject to change depending on issues that might be encountered.
B9 Roll-Out Information and Activities
On October 23, 2018, all current active Banner users will have access to B9. A link will be available on MyWestern/Employee/Banner 9 along with training videos and quick guides. Communication on the B9 roll-out will be sent to campus users via email and Western Today.
