Research Method

We decided to conduct our research by reading and reviewing scholarly articles and administering surveys to our fellow WWU students and the campus community.

We found that the best way to conduct our research was to gather first hand accounts of western students opinions of the health center and compare the results to leading peer reviewed articles relating to the subject.

We analyzed many different sources from accredited universities to decide which studies were the most fitting to outline and defend the research that was conducted about our topic and related survey results. We also decided that we would leverage firsthand opinions from WWU students who have used the student health center’s resources. We utilized their feedback on their experience to better understand the services provided by the health center and how they are being used by Western students.

We surveyed our fellow students and had them fill out questionnaires based on their personal experiences with the student health center on campus. The final goal being to collect enough research to make a determination whether or not the student health center does an effective job at marketing their services and meeting the needs of students, and providing some suggestions to increase student awareness and access of their services.
