Conclusions

Our research on Comic Sans shoved fiery and steadfast opinions on our topic right in our faces. Our survey yielded numerous cheeky words which creatively describe the font to help people understand it better. A trend discovered through research suggests that Comic Sans is widely shunned due to its unprofessional, childish look. This trend is further supported because children often prefer the look and use of Comic Sans over other fonts. Thus, the aesthetic factor strongly correlates to disgust of the font. Nevertheless, our survey results also suggest a general social stigma for the reason for the unfavorable view of the font. Is this cultural stigma created by the unprofessional, childish font design?
