Presenters

  • Jeanette gave a demonstration of her approach to drawing face proportions. She talks about how knowing specific anatomy and proportions helps her compose faces.
  • Rock gave an elevator pitch for a satire comic called “shitty stories for shitty people”. It is aimed at an adult audience, using super hero stories to process through contemporary celebrity and political culture. Thinking of printing it on toilet paper to emphasize the satire/critique.
  • Marcus gave an elevator pitch for a fantasy coming-of-age story about kids growing up in a magical world. The series tracks through grade, middle, and high school, and the art style might change as the characters grow.
  • Sandra gave a demonstration of a drawing her friend taught her in elementary school. It comes with a story/mnemonic, which Sandra performed.
  • Megan gave an elevator pitch for an untitled comic about a young woman who (after a car crash) wakes up in an eerie coastal town where time-travel is possible and technology crosses dimensions.
  • Celine created a collage bringing two art styles into the same realm. Characters from Charles Schultz and one Tomm Coker.
  • Jacob gave an elevator pitch of a comic for serious adults, a slice of life series made up of independent vignettes. The series focuses on a 25 year old man who moves in together with his grandfather (whose memory is failing).
  • Devon gave an elevator pitch for a sci-fi take on a female Robin Hood. An orphan with substantial means, she becomes embroiled in taking down an evil corporation and win her love’s heart!
