What Does Our Data Mean?

We set out to find if whether or not computer scientists or computer science students thought code was similar to language or not. From data collected from online articles, the overwhelming consistency was that in the eyes of many computer scientists, code is similar to language is at least one or more ways. Whether it be the process of learning the functions and properties of code to make programs or the simple consideration that computer code is a direct way for humans to interact with computers. The scholarly articles that we found all pointed to the idea that code is a simplified way for humans to write down commands that translate to 0’s and 1’s. On the other hand, our survey also had a majority of people (8/10) agree that code was, in at least one aspect, similar to language. Our survey also generated multiple responses from our participants in which they shared their opinions on which ways they believe code was similar to language (see findings)

This goes to show anybody who is interested in learning computer science that code is not too different from learning language after all. With patience and perseverance, anybody can learn to code.
