  • December 2023: Congratulations to Claire H. for graduating! Hard to say goodbye to the last of our 2021-2023 group of students… good thing we don’t have to because Claire will be sticking around for one more quarter to teach a few classes in the KIN program.
  • Fall 2023:  Welcome to our new graduate cohort – Charissa, Jose, Rich, and Claire B.!

    • Congratulations to the 2021-2023 graduate cohort for finishing and to all the great thesis defenses we have seen!
    • Congratulations to two undergraduate KIN: Sport psychology major students for earning the Most Inspirational Graduating Senior (Aidan Fenton) and Most Outstanding Graduating Senior (Matt Keene) awards in Kinesiology this year!

  • March 2nd, 2023: The CPE will be hosting workshop on Burnout Prevention from 4:15-5:15pm in Haggard Hall, Room 153. See flyer below for details!
  • Fall 2023: Western is hosting the Northwest Student Sport and Exercise Psychology Symposium (NWSSEPS): An AASP PNW Regional Conference again on April 21-22nd of 2023. Stay tuned for registration and abstract submission information coming soon!
  • Spring 2022: Last week our 2021 graduate cohort attended the 2022 AASP PNW Regional Conference (NWSSEPS) at Seattle University. We had a great time presenting our thesis research topics, networking with other SEP professionals and students, and being back in person. Thanks to Seattle U for hosting a great event!

  • Summer 2019: CONGRATULATIONS to Nate and Sam on their graduation. We wish them all the best as Nate starts work with the military and Sam starts her doctoral studies!

  • Spring 2019: THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED THE 2019 AASP PNW Regional Conference (NWSSEPS!) – we had a great showing with over 10 schools/organizations represented and several great presentations and keynotes!

   

  • Update 12/3/18: Western is hosting the Northwest Student Sport and Exercise Psychology Symposium (NWSSEPS): An AASP PNW Regional Conference again on April 12-13th of 2019. Stay tuned for registration and abstract submission information coming soon!
  • Fall 2018: We submitted changes to our graduate curriculum this Fall to add two new courses that can count towards CMPC certification: a counseling skills and an ethics course. These will go into place for the next cohort starting in Fall 2019. Students will not only have the opportunity to accumulate many supervised hours of internship, but also will have access to all of the classes necessary for CMPC starting in Fall 2019!

  • Spring 2018: NEW CPE IS NOW OPEN!! After 2 years of renovation, the brand new, high-tech CPE is now open serving clients in the renovated Carver building. Contact us to schedule a tour or a client session.

  • Fall 2017: Our SEP program had a great showing at AASP in Orlando, FL in October. WWU was represented in five different presentations! Looking forward to seeing more alumni in Toronto in 2018

  • Fall 2017: The CPE has officially moved to Carver Academic Facility and is located in Suite 202 – we are busy unpacking, gearing up for classes, and preparing for a new graduate cohort, more photos to be posted soon!
  • Summer 2017: Making progress on the new CPE in renovated Carver! Our move in date is coming up shortly!

  • Summer 2017: Congratulations to all of the 2015-2017 graduate cohort for finishing their master’s theses and graduating! You will be missed, Taylor, Arianna, Jason and Mason!
  • Spring 2017: The renovation of our building, Carver Academic Facility, is coming to completion after nearly two years. The new CPE and SEP lab is out of this world – we cannot wait to open its doors at the end of the summer 2017! A live webcam of the new Health and Human Development Department’s wing can be watched. The new CPE will be on the second floor of that glass wing found in the camera angle from Bond Hall.

  • Arianna, Taylor and Jason just submitted their master’s theses and are on their way to walking in graduation in a few weeks – congrats to them!
  • Mason’s research is fully underway utilizing our new eye gaze tracking equipment – a very exciting time for the SEP program
  • Spring 2017: The Northwest SEP Symposium was a success! Over 15 institutions or private practices represented.

  • Fall 2016: Dr. Arthur-Cameselle and the cohort met up with Dr. V and alumni at this Fall’s AASP conference in AZ. A fun lunch was had by all!

  • Spring 2016: The faculty and staff attended and presented at the Northwest Student Sport and Exercise Psychology Symposium held at EWU on April 8-9 http://cflynn9.wix.com/nwsseps2016. It made for a nice road trip with a beautiful detour to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
