Pedagogy Workshop: Attendance Policies Through a Disability Perspective

The Institute for Critical Disability Studies will be holding a virtual workshop about the function of attendance policies in college classes. Hosted by Elliott Hawley (undergraduate student and disability advocate) and Andrew Lucchesi (English faculty), this workshop will address various models of attendance policies. Participants will learn to examine attendance policies through a disability justice lens, understanding the effects various policies have on disabled students. We will learn to make attendance policies that are both effective and ethical.

This workshop will be held on Zoom from 2-3pm on Friday, March 8th. Follow this link to register for the event, get calendar reminders, and access the Zoom link. We will be recording the session for those who can’t make it. We will use Zoom auto-captions during the session. If you have any questions or access needs, please reach out to Andrew Lucchesi at lucchea@wwu.edu
