About the Event
You are invited to an upcoming event on May 12th at 3:30pm, a Roundtable on Teaching Disability in the Disciplines sponsored by the Institute for Critical Disability Studies (ICDS). This fully online event will bring faculty from across the university together to talk about how disability-related content fits into their teaching. The aim is to show how disability studies can find a home in a range of fields, which will provide models for other faculty interested in teaching about disability.
Faculty will address the following questions:
- What role does disability studies or disability-related content play in the courses or contexts in which you teach?
- What do you feel disability and accessibility content have to offer your students?
- What advice would you give to people who might be interested in integrating disability into their teaching but don’t know where to start?
This panel will feature:
- Kristen Chmielewski, Health and Human Development
- Yasmine Elglay, Computer Science
- David Engebretson, Web Communications Technology
- Andrew Lucchesi, English
- G McGrew, College of Science and Engineering
