Methodology of Research

The type of research that Marvin and I conducted were interviews and collecting data from websites. For the web searches, we wanted to hear from websites that each had different opinions on whether Western Washington University has diversity. The websites we chose was one thought the university wasn’t diverse, another website claimed that the campus did have diversity and finally the last website just simply had data with no opinion. We thought that looking at different opinions and then looking at a site that didn’t have a claim was important because it was equal. We chose to do interviews so we could talk to people in person. We believed that a questionnaire doesn’t let a person tell their own opinion instead a questionnaire makes the user have to pick an opinion that was already previously provided. By interviewing students and staff in person we were able to clearly understanding what they believed what they believed. The interviewees telling us what they believed provided us with the raw data needed to draw a conclusion.
