DRAC Minutes 10/28/15
Present: Beth Leonard, Bidisha Biswas, Kaelen Morris, Jim DeWilde,
Steve Woods, Julianna Jackson, Israel Rios, Joaquin Torre, Rebecca
McLean, Ichi Kwon, Jon Bash (for Bianco), Ted Sealey, Steve
Vanderstaay, Erin Emry, Carolyn Nielsen, Jon Bash (Music).
Absent: Anna Wulfkuhle, Nannette Jackson, Cami Gates, Christopher
Bianco, Heather Dalberg,
Miscellaneous comments by Steve Woods about the nature of the DRAC and
S&A Committees while we waited to see if a quorum showed up. Eventually we did get a quorum.
Introductions for those present.
Discussion centered on the best time to have the DRAC meetings and
potential locations for the meetings. No clear answers are yet
determined. Regarding DRAC meeting times, a request for calendars will
be sent to see if we can determine the best time to meet this quarter.
Christopher Bianco had previously volunteered to be the DRAC Chair
beginning next quarter.
Motion 1: Steve Woods nominated Bianco as DRAC Chair, second by Beth Leonard.
Accepted unanimously
Motion 2: Steve Woods volunteered to serve as Vice-Chair. Accepted unanimously.
Discussion regarding student representatives to the S&A Fee
Committee determined that with only 2 of the seven voting student
member present it would be appropriate to wait until more students are
available. The two students present did volunteer to become student
reps to S&A. Joaquin Torre and Julianna Jackson are willing to
serve on S&A if elected. Given the nature of scheduling conflicts
it is also important that we elect a student to be an alternate S&A
representative.
The S&A faculty representative and 2 student representatives and
one student alternate should be determined at the next DRAC meeting.
