Anticipation

“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”

– Oliver Wendell Holmes

When I go anywhere, I am always filled with anticipation, and have grown to love the feeling. Anticipation to me is mostly a feeling of excitement for the new experience to come, coupled with other feelings that are related to any sort of new expereince, specifically the anxciousness of traveling to a new place, or fear of any possible mishap. For this trip in particular, I’m anxcious about not only being surrounded by a completely new environment, but also living in a place where English isn’t the primairy language. When I get anxcious, it helps me to write everything down and think it through in my head, so for this post I thought I would share my process of creating my packing list along with sounds created while I’ve started to pack. Italy has always been a bucket list location for me, and I can’t wait to live in this beautiful contry for a month!

  1. This was fun I really like the simplicity in it. I feel like this was exactly what was going through my brain this week haha, Also your voice is very lovely 10/10 could be a youtuber!

  2. I appreciate the foley effects in the background, they really added to the feel of the list. The whole things sounds very aspirational and tranquil, like the sensation of organizing your things, so great job on that.

  3. Alegra, I enjoyed this. It is very calming and your recording is very good. The sounds combined with your voice are nicely balanced. The voice stays central, but the background sounds add depth and space. If they’d been to loud it may have sounded confusing. Not the case here. And the quote at the beginning of your post is a nice touch. I can almost hear you reading it at the beginning or the end. Good job.
