LAGGING- On and off

LAGGING- On and Off. This sound scape is what I experienced when I got to my apartment after getting off the plane. The crowds of people, unlocking the strange door, immediately getting into the shower, and then fading in and out of sleep, being disjointedly awoken by the street noise and passers by, just wishing I could get some rest, it just seemed impossible. The picture I chose, taken by Elliot, was of me stretching out our window to take some recordings of the street below. I love this image because my shirt blends into the darkness and makes me look as though I am split in half, only legs. Which is how I was feeling the midst of jetlag.

  1. The image grabbed my attention because it looked like half of you was gone. This is definitely a visual representation of what we’ve all been feeling especially after all the walking around and entering a new space.

  2. I really enjoyed how mellow the sound scape is, I really liked the absent chatter in the background in parts of it. I feel like because I cant speak the language, I’ve not been chatting with stagers as much. Especially like in the grocery store check out line, and so I’ve been much more aware of peoples conversations, and even though i cant understand them i really enjoy their ambiance.
