Settling In
settling in is a feeling of decompression.
As if sitting so still, the ground roots your spine,
and hair prickles at the nape of your neck.
The world is still new, but it is warmer now.
Softer and more familiar now,
like someone who moves from behind to beside you.
It is a friendship between feeling and finding.
Falling and flowing.
Whisper and shouting.
Settling in is a hum against a storm,
because we have broken in new shoes.
