The last recording of me playing the piano at the studio in Italy + me singing through my beautiful, stunning, sweet effects pedals. Coming home to a nest all too familiar and overwhelming makes getting lost in sound a necessary catharsis. I keep revisiting moments that are forever ephemeral: you say it’s a memory, I say it’s a dream, dreaming within a dreaming in a dream.
Your posts always have so much emotion behind them and I love seeing the multiple images because it feels even more like a blog. The dream within a dream is very indicative of our time in Italy feeling like an outsider and remembering we are at school (not sure if that’s what you meant, but it’s an interpretation).
Goosebumps… this is gorgeous…. I love how listening to your voice with the effect pedals is like looking at you through your one camera… you, but also maybe not you? It ended far too soon!!!!
And as always, your work has blown me away. This is absolutely gorgeous, ethereal, dissonant, warm and cold. Encapsulates the feeling of recollection and distance that comes with the end of travel.
