Project 6

"Creation out of destruction" Wendy Bureau"Induced, a downward spiral A maze, most difficult plight Not easy to ignore temptation To retaliate, sheer spite It is taught, self preservation To forgive thy fellow man Swallow resentment's pride Equality, to all of this land Creation out of destruction Birth's promise, at fire's end Rejuvenation outside the box Fertility flourishes amend Sprouting sprigs of green Nourished, nurtured, by new found light Radiates resound judgement Wise in wisdom and insight Resilience resurrected Forgiveness found without cost Restored is faith in man Which once so mercilessly, was lost." In many of Wendy Bureaus poems, she conveys the emotion of destruction and creation. In her poem not only does she convey the emotion of what she’s feeling, but the fact that she is also conveying a message of what man misses, that man is imperfect and that destruction is inevitable. In the second stanza, Bureau says “It is taught, self-preservation.” From this, pulling away from our own humanity will forever make us humble to our destructive patterns and antics. Not only is it taught but understood by all people that looking inward as well as outward will always cause wave in the space we call home. She speaks of rebirth, rejuvenation and the simple forms of salvation. “Resilience resurrected, forgiveness found without cost, restored is faith in man, which once so mercilessly, was lost.” One thing that I may contradict is Bureau’s use of her vision of seeing man finding salvation once again after such turmoil. At the end of each day, and some may agree with me, that the human race furthers itself from following natural course, from straying away from the fact that all good things must end. /p>

The world's top secret agent specialist (Ryan Reynolds) is called upon to monitor the life of his human enemy, one of the world's most famous contract killers (Samuel L. Jackson). The tenacious guardian and manipulative professional killer have been on the furthest edge of the slug for a considerable length of time and are put together for a fiercely incredible 24 hours. During their adventure from England to a place called the Hague, they experience rapid vehicle pursues, freakish vessel capers and a barbarous Eastern European tyrant who is determined to bust some skulls. Hitman’s Bodyguard has an interesting relationship with rebirth.

As both are practically sworn enemies from the start, they must a silver lining to accepting one another. (NOTICE READER: what you are about to read are spoilers for this movie, so if you continue to read as you are doing so, and are willing to continue to, you have been warned.) Throughout the movie, both Reynolds and Jackson are at each other's throats with practically every object that could be used to harm, but this doesn’t help their bond, at first. As the movie progresses, they begin to work with one another to help instead of hurt. For example, in one specific scene, Jackson is running for his life from someone shooting at him, and Reynolds, instead of staying in a condescendingly quaint standing position, watches Jackson run in front of him as he’s screaming for help. For a second, you think he won’t help him, as he has helped him so many times throughout the movie already, but he ends up helping him. That there is their form of creation. Building an unformattable friendship out of a strict mannered circumstance. Their destruction however, comes from a purely physical form. As both the words “Hitman” and “Bodyguard” is in the title, both parties end up creating many casualties against the “Bad guys” of the movie. /p>

In the song “Live SheckWes Die SheckWes” by Sheck Wes, he very literally means what he is saying. Through the repetitive and energetic beats, a deeper message is attempting to be funneled to the listener. I believe through his lyrics, Sheck is speaking of his hustles and hardships through growing up in New York's unforgiving streets. /p>

Batman is forced out of eight years of hiding when a ruthless mercenary called Bane takes control of Gotham's underworld, and makes plans to take over the whole city. With the help of the mysterious Selina Kyle and his butler Alfred, Bruce must protect the citizens of the beloved from their greatest threat yet. In Christopher Nolan’s rendition of “The Dark Knight” starring Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as the infamous Joker, they both have a “Yin-Yang” relationship. In the movie, Jokers psychological torment on Batman creates an ever-binding relationship between the both of them. Not to say that Joker have a creative side, but he’s definitely enthusiastic about his “Fire works.” Throughout the movie, Jokers antics leash Batman around Gotham and wreaking havoc upon its citizens. Realizing this, Batman has the opportunity to reach a new level of creativity and sub demise leading towards Joker. In one scene specifically, Joker and Batman are in the interrogation room and Joker ends up saying to Batman “Kill you? I don’t wanna kill you. What would I do without you? Go back to ripping off mob bosses? No. No. No! No you-you complete me.” This goes to show again their relationship of yin and yang. ONe produces chaos, which triggers need for order. That re-assemblance of order causes more chaos, and over and over and over again. Batman is Joker’s only real challenge to destroy Gotham, so he would be better off just taking him out, but Joker enjoys this challenge.

To introduce myself, I am Alexander Brown and I’m a bit of an experimental mind when it comes to writing. For many years I have pursued interests in writing poetry and short stories, ranging from highschool slam poetry to papers about the creative activity that is present in the frontal lobe. With my time writing I’ve learned very few things, but one of those things is letting out what you have to say, or even want to say is so much healthier if it’s down on paper. Through my time writing in WWU, I have advanced my writing skills to elevated levels. When I began this project, I focused on the concept of rebirth and rejuvenation, So I chose to do Destruction and Creation. When it came to finding pieces of writing that hold destruction and creation I needed to focus on the relationships inside the pieces of work and what they created. To say the least, it was a little difficult to find specifics to destruction AND creation. Focusing on each word separately created problems because the pieces of writing or the genres that I wanted to focus on didn’t give me what I was intending for. My favorite Genre was definitely the movies, especially Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight.”
