Our key concept is the representation of love and sexual relationships in US Latinx literature. As we read through these novels in class, we noticed the recurring theme of romantic love and its different forms. Each member of the group found a specific focus in their chosen novel when it came down to how true romantic love is portrayed and why. We then were able to compare the differences between sexual relationships and loving relationships.

We decided to use a blog format symbolically – Love is a profound but basic idea within all cultures. Humans are obsessed with the idea of love and what it encompasses. People make art symbolizing it, people post their thoughts and ideas on social media lamenting or exclaiming their love fixations, etc. Blogs are often used to record people’s lives, and using this format to talk about love is far from uncommon. We decided to speak on the topic of love, and chose to use the format that is currently “in”.
