Diary Entry

Dear Diary,

Today’s entry is going to be a bit different than what I normally write. I want to take a trip down memory lane, all the way back to my sweet sixteen birthday party. I have often found my mind wandering back to that time, and thinking about Jazz*.

For my sweet sixteen party, I had a sleepover with a few of my closest friends at the Embassy Suites hotel in Downtown Seattle. The morning of my birthday my family and I went to the hotel to get the room ready.  The day before, we had gone out to get party decorations to hang up in the hotel room. We blew up pink balloons and strung pink streamers around the entire hotel room. I am only going to write about the part of that party that I want to relive, which is when we went to bed. For you to understand what I am about to tell you, you need to know the sleeping arrangement. In the hotel room, there were two queen-sized beds. On one bed was Jazz and me, and on the other bed was my two other friends. I was sleeping on the right side of the bed, and Jazz was on the left side. We were laying in the bed, facing each other. Since the lights were off, it was really dark and I could hardly see Jazz’s face. We stayed like that, just staring at each other, not really sure if our friends were actually asleep. It seemed like hours that we waited, although it probably was more like 45 minutes. That’s when jazz started to slowly inch towards me. The closer she came, the more I could see it in her eyes. She wanted to, just as much as I did. Our mouths finally clashed together, hungrily taking more and more. This wasn’t our first time making out, we had done it at other slumber parties and sleepovers.

It was our secret … until now

Xoxo,

Jesse

P.S. I wanted to write this last part. After that night, we stopped. We didn’t talk about it, it just sort of stopped happening. To be honest, I really miss it to this day. Yes, I’ve had a boyfriend since then but he never truly understood me like how Jazz did. I miss Jazz.

I have always loved to write; I now use journaling to reflect on and process experiences. I picked this genre to write in because I thought it would be the best way to show my thinking. Diaries are the most personal and private pieces of writing that are usually not shared with many people. In the diary entry, I write about an intimate moment between me and another girl. The story that I am telling in the entry is true, although I kept some details out like the names of my friends. When I first sat down to write this diary entry, I wasn’t sure how much I should include and how much to leave out. In all of my journal entries, I write raw and honestly so this diary entry is no different. I tend to write as if I am talking, and I usually write in a continuous stream of thoughts.
