I chose this comic because I thought it was cute and unique. I love animals so this comic immediately jumped out at me. I like how it still encompasses the adorable message of love, but uses comedy as well. I went through a lot of comics before I picked this one and I like how it was very different from the typically “couples in love” story. Looking deeper into this comic, we can notice that snakes are a huge predator to mice and in most cases, would just gobble them up. I like that this scenario exemplifies how powerful love can be. This message also goes along the lines of “never judge a book by its cover” because most people would see this snake as scary and monstrous. To me, the best part is how it can display this huge message in just two pictures and around 15 words. I am a big fan of simplicity and I really appreciate what this comic does. We don’t have to dive too deep into the topic of enemies and overcoming hate, but we get a short and sweet display of what it could look like. More personally, I have a couple friends who are like the mouse so I can definitely relate to the snake which makes it even better.
