Lyrics

“And I know that I can’t ever tell you enough
That all I need in this life is your crazy love
If I never get to see the Northern lights
Or if I never get to see the Eiffel Tower at night
Oh if all I got is your hand in my hand
Baby I could die a happy man
A happy man, baby, hmm”

-Thomas Rhett, Die A Happy Man

I am a little biased for choosing these lyrics because Thomas Rhett is one of my favorite artists, but I have listened to this song hundreds of times so it will be a good chance to stop and reflect on it. My favorite part about this song is the amazing visual it gives. I picture being on top of the Eiffel Tower with thousands of lights lighting up the night sky. Now if that doesn’t make you fall in love, I don’t know what will. One particular line that I enjoy is “crazy love” because that just brings me back to the beautiful and passionate love that we all desire. After he talks about all these amazingly romantic gestures he brings it back to the idea that he just needs her hand in his and then he is eternally happy. This chorus just warms my heart because I feel like it can apply in a lot of situations. Personally, it makes me think of my family and that I can be in the worst place ever, but as long as I am with my family, I am radiating with joy. Once again, love in songs is pretty common and can get repetitive, but Thomas Rhett just has a gift. Country music is my favorite genre and this song just has such a comfortable and homey feel. Although I only included the chorus, throughout this song he does a great job of encompassing the theme of eternal love and does it in such a unique way. I do listen to a lot of love songs so this wasn’t a completely new medium for me, but this is the first time I was able to stop and really dive into the meaning. I am so grateful I was pushed to find a deeper meaning to this lyrics and that now I can genuinely appreciate them.
