Hello! Welcome to our class WordPress page. This is where you will publish most of the major projects you do for our class. Everything you post of WordPress will be visible to the other students in the class, as students in other English 101 classes. Right now, the site is private only to Western WordPress users. But near the end of the class, this website will go fully public. It will be added to an archive of other English 101 classes on the main page for Western’s first-year writing program.
Your project prompts will tell you whether you should turn in your projects here on WordPress or on Canvas. When you turn in a project here, be sure you use the appropriate category label for that project. For instance, project 1 literacy sponsorship narratives should be labeled with the category “literacy-narrative”. There is a category for each required project, and one catch-all category for the extension projects, labeled “extensions”.
In addition to marking your post with the appropriate category, you should include three tags for your post. Tags are keywords, they express something about what the post is about. For instance, if your Literacy Sponsorship Narrative features someone reading you The Cat in the Hat, you might use the tag “childrens-books”. Tags are completely generated by you, so there are no limits on how you tag your posts.
As the class goes on, this website will change and grow to suit our needs. If you ever have suggestions about how to improve our site, please let me know.
Thanks
