My sponsor of literacy was my sophomore English teacher Mr. Benedict who vastly improved my righting in one brief conversation. I decided to re-make the story about this conversation into a music playlist. I chose a music playlist because I love music and thought it would be cool to try and recreate my story with songs. Music can express emotions and meanings like not many other things can, and for my story specifically, I feel like the songs I put in my playlist not only relate to my story but demonstrate some of the emotions in it as well. For example, one of the songs in my playlist is “Rewrite,” by Paul Simon. In this song, Simon expresses himself constantly rewriting and reediting a piece of work to make it better. This clearly relates to my narrative as that is what my sponsor, Mr. Benedict, helped me do with my essay. Another song from my playlist, “Getting Better” by The Beatles, talks about how things, specifically school, are getting better for them, and it’s making them feel better. This relates to my narrative because after my conversation with Mr. Benedict my writing not only improved but became more enjoyable as well. None of the songs in the playlist I created perfectly relate to my story, as it is seemingly impossible to find ones that do. However, they all do connect to it in some way through emotions or meanings that can ultimately help you better understand my narrative.
This is awesome! It’s great how you linked up each song to a moment in your literacy narrative. What a fun playlist too!
Good work.
