How has your attitude towards literature and “reading for fun” changed between the beginning and end of this research study?
My attitude towards literature and non academic reading has improved immensely. I had fallen into a slump of sorts with my reading habits. So many other activities taking up my time placed reading on the back shelf for me. This research study showed me a new and incredibly captivating medium to support my reading. I will get into this new medium later on but overall this study has reopened the door for my “reading for fun”.
What was your favorite piece that you read for this study? Why? What surprised you about this piece.
My favorite piece that I read for this study hands down was Thursdays reading I believe it was day three for me. This piece was a webtoon titled Lumine. We were only supposed to read the first two episodes but I finished up till episode 19 on that day. It was so captivating a very well written story that engulfed me forcing me to continue flipping through its episodes. Within the week I had finished all 57 episodes and am currently craving more. This piece surprised the hell out of me originally I thought it was gonna be a corny anime that got boring after a few episodes. However, it was almost the opposite the further I got into it the more interesting it got. I didn’t want it to end but now i’m craving an ending or some sort of closure to the story. Right now it is almost to the climax but each new episode feels like an eternity of waiting. The art work specifically was the focal point for the study and it was a large part of my captivation to it. The artist is very talented drawing entire episodes in a week that would take me many more to complete. I highly recommend this webtoon if you are into that kinda writing or at least to give it a try. I will definitely be searching for many other webtoons in the future.

I am so glad you enjoyed a new form of literature! I agree, the webtoons are really awesome–and way to go for reading on! It’s truly and immersive experience, and you get to see multiple mediums working together for a single narrative.
If you want any more suggestions for webtoons, let me know!
