My name is Kennedy Garrison. I am actually from Bellingham Washington and am thinking of ethier majoring in Education or Business and going into a career in Elementary Education or Charity Management. I love the outdoors, hiking, books, and all animals (especially dogs).
This might be a unpopular opinion but I actually enjoy writing. I think my greatest strength in writing lies in creative writing, specifically writing fiction, journalism, personal narrative anything that goes beyond the standard five paragraph essay. I think a big part of school is memorizing facts and concept and taking test so it is a nice breath of fresh air when we can actually do something creative such as creative writing and projects. It is also fun when you can write about topics that interests you or that you are passionate about. For me that is social injustices and fiction so being to be able to create fictional characters and situation but using real world themes. I also really enjoy writing personal narratives about events in my life. I think it is pretty cool how you can make small moments in your life into fun entertaining stories.
Me and my partner’s website is titled F(STEM)minism and it discusses the question we asked in our project, why is there less women in STEM and what does Feminism has to do with this. We go into depth about how we did our research for this topic (interviews, observations, surveys and article readings) and the results that we got from this research. We also discussed ways our audience (college students and professor who want to see a change in this issue) can use our research to create change.
Our journey to create this webtext was a pretty smooth one. Our only really real challenge was figuring out how to do the design and technical stuff of the website since neither me or her had much experience creating a website but Becca did a really good job on formatting our different pages and I think in the end we created something really professional and that is easy accessible for all. For instance we have different links so you can look at different articles we are referencing (or a summary if you just want to hear that) and we even have different audio elements in our interview page! We wanted to design where the readers can get the main ideas
