My name is Sophia Rose Parsons. All my life, I have been someone that loves to learn new things, making it so I was never a “just one” kind of person. I was not just a musician, I was also an athlete. I was not just a female in STEM, I was an artist. I was not just a reader, I was also a writer. All of these identifications and more are still true about myself to this day as well. Ever since I was young, I was always intrigued in the power that books had on a reader. I would find myself getting lost in worlds that did not exist and transporting my mind into the pages within the books. My love for writing has also never dwindled. I wrote poetry at a young age as well as began to write a plethora of books, never having the confidence to finish them in my childish years.
With my style of writing comes creativity, spontaneity, and emotion. I intend to give every word meaning to the point that if that word was removed, the whole sentence would lose its full intensity and significance. The pieces of writing that I feel I can accomplish this ideology the most are creative and informative writings. There’s nothing I love more than writing about something I am passionate about, which can be a plethora of topics. I am passionate about creative writing that involves explaining my grandparent’s love story as well as informative essays that go in depth about my interest in Parkinson’s disease and how treatments for the horrible disease are being studied. I have written about both of these topics, but in very different ways. These are two examples of intellectual conversations that made me excited to write about them.
In Ashley and I’s webtext, we introduce the interface users to our topic by presenting a welcome statement as well as our title “The Effect of Music On Brain Stimulus” in front of a monotone color image of a simple guitar off to the side. Under the header, you find easy access to all six pages provided on our website. Each page is formatted in front of a bright yellow picture of spotlights to contrast the gray header.
Our main goal for this webtext was to create an aesthetically pleasing website that is very easy and simple to navigate at the same time. We wanted access to each page to be simple, so they are all located in order at the top of the webtext in a font color that contrasts the background color very much, as well as on the side of the page as widgets. As for aesthetics, we spent a lot of time searching for music related backgrounds. Eventually, we combined a gray image of a guitar as the header with a bright yellow image of spotlights as the background to create great contrast with relevance at the same time.
