Hi Readers,
My name is Ashley Kolbeck. I am majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders so that I can hopefully become a Speech Therapist some day! I think what makes me unique as a writer is nothing special, but how laid back I am when I write. This is almost to a fault because I get called out for it a lot in my essays for classes. I don’t like to make my papers too formal because then it seems too formal and boring, but I guess that is what those papers are for and I really should work on that. My writing was probably at its peak my junior year of high school. That is when I had the most papers due, and the most guidance on what I was doing. After that, I started to slack and not care about my work as much, but I hope to get better on that.
I most enjoy writing informational essay about history. I was always the most passionate about those in class because history was my favorite subject and I loved to put my knowledge out there. I would say that this is my strongest type of writing because when I know what I’m talking about, I can write a strong paper and write it very efficiently. I would say that I’m also very good at “faking it till I make it.” I’m not proud when I have to do this, but it can come in handy when I don’t fully prepare for an essay, I’ll just write a persuasive paper and hope that it proves correct and gets me a good grade.
Sophie and I’s webtext is pretty straightforward and easy to follow. We started out with our welcome page that gives a brief statement about our project to get people interested in what the rest is going to be about. Our subsections are all located on the top of the the page under the title and you can just click on them to get the different types of information you need. For the design of it, we decided to go simple, but it ended up looking sharp and easy on the eye. We have gotten many compliments on how it looks even though we put minimal effort into it. We made each subpage one post that we put all of our information into. If the viewer ever wanted to go back to the welcome page, all they would have to do would be to click the title of our website, and you would be redirected to that first page!
