My name is Tor, I’m a freshman at WWU. I was born and grew up in Seattle and have found Bellingham to be quite enjoyable because of its scenery and close proximity to the north cascade mountain range. Having an easily accessible outlet to nature is something I value greatly and am very appreciative to have it so close to the university. I am also enjoying all of my classes and really like science as well as the academic challenge.
Something that I think makes me unique as a student is my independence and determination. I really want to finish assignments rather than dragging them out and procrastinating, doing so by managing my time as logically as I can. I enjoy classes in large lecture halls, rather than smaller classroom environments because how well you do in the class is entirely dependent on how much attention you give and how much you study. My best academic talent is probably just having a great deal of patience for studying textbook material and lecture notes, which stems from my determination; I have no problem with studying for 12 straight hours if it gives me time to do something I find fun the next day.
My and my partners webtext is a website dedicated to exercise and the impact it has on students academically. There is a cover page, then seven subsections on the research we conducted and the analysis of our data. We created this webtext by first orienting our home page and trying to make the entire web page aesthetically pleasing, the theme and color choices make it look formal yet interesting, using dark colors for the title and a picture of a jogger as the head image. After we finished the visuals which we considered the baseline for our website we made a menu which is the way of navigating throughout the site, the menu has all of our groupings of research data and analysis we conducted in chronological order, beginning with an introduction and ending with a conclusion. After creating all of our subgroups we took the text from our poster and put it into each grouping then elaborated greatly on the text in each group due to being very condensed for the poster.
