Vietnamese Food

Vietnamese food has been known for their fresh ingredients and their reliability on vegetables in their dishes. It is also known as some of the healthiest foods in the world, because of the use of ingredients. Seafood is a very popular part of the Vietnamese cuisine.

We have all heard of a very popular Vietnamese soup dish, Phở. I found it interesting that in Vietnam you normally would never find Pho in a restaurant, but mostly randomly on the side of the street. In the US, Pho has become increasingly Americanized without Pho restaurants around every corner. It is usually made with beef or pork with added noodles and vegetables.

In different cities you will find a specialty dish that they are most known for, like many other countries or cities. One very popular one is bánh bèo, located in Hue, which people travel to eat it. Banh beo translates to English as fern cakes, made with rice flour and added toppings such as shrimp, oil, and crispy pork skin.
