I am a Professor of Geography in the Environmental Studies department and Director of the Spatial Institute at Western Washington University. I use dendrochronology, GIS, and quantitative methods to study the role of climate change, human land use patterns, and natural disturbances in shaping forest, alpine, and coastal ecosystem dynamics. I teach physical geography (climate science and biogeography) and geospatial techniques courses.
