Summary:

This is a short documentary about 4 people who went 1 week without the internet and 1 man who went 30 days without internet. It chronicles the dependence that our society has on the internet by having various professionals speak about the issue. It documented the subjects’ struggles and realizations throughout the process. By the end of the film, everyone admitted that they were somewhat addicted to technology even though they didn’t think that they were before they went without internet. This is the best film selection because it is relevant and something that you could encourage all of your students to do.

Core Integration:

To integrate this into my class, I would first show this film and then I would have the students do a project. I would have the students also go a week without technology, like the 4 people in the film, and then they would write a full report up about it. This report could be an essay, a visual poster, a short film, etc. I would like to let the students have flexibility with this.

  1. Amazing vid and our society has a complete dependence on the internet, technology and the integration it has in our lives. It’s important for women and men to stay strong and healthy in their natural everyday lives and not plugged in to the computer all day, especially if it’s not for work. Physical activity, optimal sexual health
, social interaction, and mental stimulation in real life are important to balance the amount of time we spend on the internet.
