Bullying Prevention, Grade 6, Internet Source for Students

Dealing with Bullies

I felt this website, while a little wordy, was the best for students because it has big readable font that breaks down bullying into easy-to-read topics. The site covers a lot of topics from what to do if a bully approaches you, to how to stand up for yourself, and even addresses what the consequences for bullying is. I like this website for students because it breaks down tactics for dealing with bullies and I don’t often see sources focusing on what happens to people who bully.

Core Integration:

This website can be used in a science course that focuses on bullying and social health, as was the case for addressing bullying at my middle school. Due to the wordy-ness of this website, students could read through the website with a critical eye that can improve their textbook reading skills. The students would use a worksheet that prompts them to look for key words and concepts on the website as a sort of scavenger hunt.
