Heart Disease Drawing Board

It’s hard to be you when you’re heart is sick! Although you may not feel the exact same way that the above picture depicts, there are still hindrances and repercussions that will slow your body down and inflict costly damage. Your heart is like a pump. However, when a water pump becomes rusty or is unable to effectively disperse fluid, what good is it!? Similarly, there is no way you can operate at a 100% level when one of your core organs is unable to effectively pump oxygen to muscles throughout your body. Whether you want to or not, you will end up developing some of the symptoms listed below with an eventual diagnosis of heart disease:

On the other hand, there are also preventative measures that can ensure you will avoid these repercussions! A few being exercise, and plentiful fruit and vegetable intake. However, many of these symptoms are acquired over the course of many years of poor lifestyle choices, as well as genetic predispositions—and it is never too early to start forming good habits that build up your body and decrease your chances of obtaining this debilitating disease.

So don’t be a drag, and keep your heart pumpin’!

(This Doceri drawing board presentation is targeted towards middle school students who are forming critical lifestyle choices)
