Title: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
Produced by: Wolfgang Reitherman
Rated: G
Running Time: 1hour and 14 minutes
Description/ Review: “Pooh, a bear of very little brain, and all his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood sing their way through adventures that encompass honey, bees, bouncing, balloons, Eeyore’s birthday, floods, and Pooh sticks.” So, Pooh and all of his friends go through many adventures together in one day. However, each of these friends has a different personality and many of them have what could be interpreted as mental disorders such as ADHD, depression, OCD, etc. One that is very visible when watching the movie is Eeyore and his depression. His friends even comment on him seeming “blue” and acting like he is having a bad day every single day. It is interesting to see how in this Disney movie each of these mental disorders are represented in a way that is easier for kids to understand.
I think this film would work best for students that are in 2nd to 3rd grade, but it could work for all elementary grades depending on how you use it.

Or, students can do more of a research project where they pick one of the characters from the movie, research what kind of possible mental disorder they might have, and talk about how to help someone with that disorder.
