Title: Fire Safety Education Video
Youtube Channel: Brampton Fire
Year: 2013
Length: 11:29
Rating:N/A
DOCUMENTARY REVIEW: It’s a pretty good, short video from a fire department. It provides a lot of basic information about fire safety in a more kid friendly format. Admittedly, the animation they use is a bit terrifying, but it gets the point across nonetheless. There is a lot of information covered, including smoke detectors, not playing with matches, all-around safety, low crawling, and how to recognize firefighters in full gear. In short, with the simple langauge, fun animation, and short run-time, it’s quite good for a 2nd grade classroom. I’d suggest pairing it with a Wonder activity in which you lead students around the school and observe what you saw in the video.
