Summary:

I found this book at the library at the other practicum I go to for my Functional Behavior Assessment class. It is a science filled, nonfiction book about sleep. It covers topics from REM to Nightmares. This was the best Nonfiction book I found because it is highly accurate and along with the detailed age appropriate text there are comics and shorter word texts explaining the main ideas

Integration:

This would be perfect for reading some of the book as a class and then assigning different students or groups of students to different sections/heading and  having them practice some expository writing. The students would then take the given title or topic and read the section in the book pertaining to it and report their findings. I went to a small private school in 5th grade that was very focused on practicing public speaking. We had presentations 2-3 times a week and it was really valuable practice for me. After they summarize what they have learned about sleep, I could have my students prepare and practice a 5-7 minute presentation their topic to give and teach the class.
