This website is clearly organized and easily accessible for students. The main thing that sets this site apart from others is that it is not just one page or side link about environmental health, but instead it is the whole site. Everything within the site has to do with my topic which makes it easy to use it in the classroom with students in many different ways. I would have the students work in the computer lab and chose a topic from the site and use that information from the page to help them build a poster.
NHES, HBO, and Learning Objectives for this resource:
NHES 7: Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health-enhancing behaviors and avoid or reduce health risks.
W2.8a Analyze how personal choices contribute to communicable and noncommunicable diseases.
NHES 1: Students will comprehend concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention to enhance health.
8.9 Summarize health practices to prevent the spread of infectious diseases that are transmitted by food, air, indirect contact, and person-to-person contact.
HBO 6. Practice behaviors that prevent infectious diseases.
Core Integration:
I would integrate this into the core topic science. I would do this by discussing environmental health in general and the scientific evidence behind it, then I would have them further explore the specific parts of environmental health for their project.
Specific standards for science
A: Natural Resources-
Humans depend on Earth’s land, ocean, atmosphere, and biosphere for many different resources. Minerals, fresh water, and biosphere resources are limited, and many are not renewable or replaceable over human lifetimes. These resources are distributed unevenly around the planet as a result of past geologic processes.
Cause and Effect-
Cause and effect relationships may be used to predict phenomena in natural or designed systems.
Influence of Science, Engineering, and Technology on Society and the Natural World-
All human activity draws on natural resources and has both short and long-term consequences, positive as well as negative, for the health of people and the natural environment.
Internet Source for Teachers: informative, reliable
This site has many wonderful resources for teachers. There are multiple other sites linked for teachers to refer to if they want more information on specific parts of environmental health. There are lesson plans, activities, and much more linked and it would be very useful when teachers are trying to find many different sites and resources having to do with environmental health and science.

Core Integration:
I would use this resource to find information about environmental health. I could see myself looking at the lesson plans but ultimately I would make adjustments and modify the lesson plans and activities to ensure they fit my students needs. I would integrate this into science in a very similar way I talked about for the student resource science integration section.

Internet Source for Parents: informational, resourceful
This site would allow parents to learn how to discuss environmental health with their child. I would have a link to this page on the class website under the section discussing the project the students will be working on. I could send home a newsletter or email informing the parents of this resource available on the class site so they know about it and where to look.
