This article takes students to the essential parts of their brain and nervous system and explains their jobs and what they do in a way kids can understand and relate to. It has a section on emotions and explains this comes from the amygdala. This article is easy to read but includes good information to understand how their brain works and the connection with emotions as well.
Core Integration:
This will be paired with science. Students will read this article and label and color an image of a brain and nervous system. Then conducted by the teacher using this lesson plan will go through emotions and appropriate cooping methods.
