  • Review:

This video is easy to understand for children. I think it gets the point across that mental illness is common and treatable. It also explains in terms understandable by children that they should not feel bad if they believe they are affects by mental illness. I like the way that the narrator has a friendly and inviting voice that is welcoming and interesting to children.

  • Core Integration:
    1. This could be integrated into an art lesson. Students could show their feelings in a drawing just like the one in the video. They could think of a time when they were sad, and express it in art. This would help students to realize that sadness is a part of life.
    2. Anchor 2.1 – Through experimentation, build skills in various media and approaches to art-making.
    3. 4.2.4. Demonstrate ways to tell a trusted adult if threatened or harmed.
