General Information:
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has provided a webpage on Healthy Relationships in Adolescence. I chose this webpage because of the amount of important information it provides for people looking to learn more about what healthy relationships can look like for their kids or students. This website is a great resource for parents because it provides information on bullying, dating & dating violence, healthy friendships, LGBTQ youth, and even national data of adolescent health. On each page section, specific facts and resources are provided for that topic, which is helpful for parents wanting to learn more.
This website can help parents teach their children about what healthy relationships look like with their friends, teachers, parents, and significant others. It can also help parents teach their children about how to develop and maintain these healthy relationships with others. I would introduce this website to parents by first sending home a newsletter when we are talking about healthy relationships in class. The newsletter would include what is happening during this topic and how parents can help by teaching their kids about the importance of establishing healthy relationships. The webpage would be listed as a resource for parents on the newsletter. I would also provide the resource on my classroom website as a way for parents to always have access to it when needed.
