The Pink Panther – The Pill
6 minutes 13 seconds. Start 3 minutes 15 seconds and end 3 minutes 38 seconds.
This is a short skit of the Pink Panther’s visits to the hospital. The Pink Panther and another patient keep tricking each other and is comical. There is a scene where the Pink Panther sneezes and nurses/doctors come with needles to give him shots and he yelps in pain.
Core Integration
I would play this skit to my classroom for a more comical approach to a lesson. The lesson would on the subject Language Arts. We would talk about personal experiences at the doctors and with needles/shots. We would talk about what makes shots important and how the pain isn’t as bad as it can be portrayed. In language Arts, the students will be learning about vocabulary words like symbolism, fantasy, fiction, and nonfiction. I have the students point out what forms of symbolism is used within the video. Then, have the students debate whether the symbolism is fictitious or not to the actual meaning of the symbol. For example, the doctors coming towards the pink panther with needles and harming the pink panther. That gives doctors a negative connotation when they should have a positive connotation.
