Parent Resource
- General Info:
- Nationwide Children’s is a website created by a children’s hospital. A specific part of the website, title Helping Hands, provides access to a library of over 100 children’s medical conditions and health concerns — including bed bugs, dental hygiene, influenza, and hand hygiene. The website is easy to navigate and contains information regarding the health concern, as well as tip for parents that help them support the overall hygiene of their child. Before starting classroom lessons on personal hygiene, it would be beneficial to send out a newsletter (email and/or paper depending on the specific families) to parents that states some of the health topics being covered, and includes a link to the Nationwide Children’s website. The newsletter can explain that the website may be used as a resource to learn more about how to support the healthy hygiene habits of their child. If families do not have access to the internet, the teacher can print out specific articles at a family’s request.
