K-2 Eye Health: Online Resources for Students, Teachers, and Parents

Internet Source for Students

General Information:

    • The site overall also has a very easy and friendly format something a lot of the other sites didn’t have as they showed pictures in depth of the ye which would probably scare the younger students. Now how I would use this source for in a computer lab their online optical illusions as they explain and use the illusion on students something I think is very fun and entertaining, but also captivating and helpful to learning. The site is also not as expansive as the rest of the sites something that this grade level most likely would struggle with as there is a lot less words and much more interactive actives for the students.

Core Integration:

    • Discuss how you would integrate this into a core topic. For some topics/resources this happens naturally.  For others, it may include a “follow up” assignment that provides this connection.
      • Due to the eyes being a vital part of learning some of the core activities are to explain in writing what you see or using other visual aids such as braille or a camera and explaining scientifically how they are similar and different to how parts of the eye function.
