Review: This is a fun video with cartoons and people to show the spread of germs. It answers all of the questions above and I believe it will keep the students entertained while learning about hygiene and good practices for hygiene. The video is short (only 21 minutes) and the whole thing could be showed or a preview and than a lesson on hygiene integrated into a science lesson.
Core Integration: This could be integrated into a science lesson when learning about germs in health and learning about microscopic organisms in science. This video on germs can be helpful when starting to talk about germs in science and I was thinking it could be a lab where you have several objects/substances of different size/shape/ and color and you can look at them in a microscope (if this isn’t available you can show example videos on what things look like under a microscope instead). The students can look at what the microorganisms look like under the microscope and record what they see to predict where other germs and microorganisms are “hiding” and living. Prior to looking under the microscope they can make predictions and opinions about what they think they will see and think about their prior knowledge. Afterwards they will explain if they’re predictions were correct and what was different and how their opinions changed.
Standards:
RST.6-8.2. Determine the central ideas or conclusions of a text; provide an accurate summary of the text distinct from prior knowledge or opinions.
RST.6-8.3. Follow precisely a multistep procedure when carrying out experiments, taking measurements, or performing technical tasks.

Length:30 minutes
Rating:five stars(i watched this as a kid and will attest to it.
Description:The main character need ned needs to get rid of an itch he has using talcum powder. He is embarrassed to deal with the itch so he struggles throughout the episode to deal with it. He is eventually saved and creates the tip for the viewers which is tip #616.HL More than a class, health is a lifesaver.
Review:four stars from rotten tomatoes.
Core Integration:
This could be integrated into the sixth grade students class as a if you guys are good we get to watch a fun video. This will be played regardless. I would have to integrate this during a health class because there are way to many good measures of health, both being mental and physical health. The episode discusses CPR, Rumors, Choking, Need for medicine(Always see the nurse), itches and rashes, everyone goes through medical issues. This would lead into a really good mental and physical health discussion.
Standards:
PHW1.2.2 state why personal hygiene is a good choice (Not to get rashes)
PHW1.8.1 Summarize the benefits of good hygiene practices for promoting health and maintaining positive social relationships.
PHW1.8.14 Describe the importance of seeking health and treatment for common infectious diseases and chronic diseases.

Summary: The purpose of these films is to inform students of the importance of personal hygiene while keeping them engaged. Watching a video is especially good for students who don’t feel comfortable talking about this subject. These are both accessible at home as well so students can watch them again if they choose to. Although these could be integrated in almost any subject, it would be able to be integrated into a science lesson. You could start with the video as an intro into the health topic of personal hygiene or you could play it in the middle of the lesson. Students could be learning about micro-bacteria and how it spreads from person to person and object to person, etc. Students can then watch the videos and they can think about ways to stop the spread or lessen the spread of the bacteria and germs. Students could even look under a microscope of a common object that’s not washed and then wash it and look at it again, there are many examples, videos, and games that could play into several lessons as a unit.
