- This site outlines a number of strategies students can use to help ease any stress or anxiety. Breathing exercises are one of the more important aspects that this site looks at to show what helps students stay calm and collected. This site is great because of the sheer number of resources it provides along with recommendations of what to also look at.
– Core Integration

- Students will look at the website and explore the various resources that detail different breathing techniques. There is a number of videos they can watch where professionals walk them through different breathing exercises.
- As we’ve talked about, there are certain subjects that can be extra-stressful for certain students. To make this activity more of a subject-based/corralated activity, something the teacher could do is have a 1-1 conference with students, or ask them through an exit slip, about which subject is the hardest or most stressful for them. Then, keep record and during each subject in the day, refer back to this record and remind those students who are currently working on their more stressful subject, to take time to breathe and go through this activity if they feel they need it.
- Follow up:
- The teacher can choose from one of the many videos to watch as a class with the students. The students will watch the video and go to their desks. As a literacy exercise, you can have the students write how they’re feeling before they do the exercise. They’ll then watch the video once again, participating with the activity. The students will then return to their writing, now witing about how they feel after the exercise. This is a good literacy exercises that also helps students manage their stress
- Teachers can also print out or make their own version of the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Grounding Method and the various others to have up in the classroom. This way it can be referenced to and students can remind themselves of the grounding techniques in times of stress.

- It can be difficult for parents to understand what steps to take when noticing symptoms of anxiety in their children. This site helps parents understand what it is their child is going through and what they can do to help them succeed. Sending home a school letter or a worksheet with the students can promote parents to study these anti-anxiety methods can help both parties develop a better understanding of how to address anxiety in the future.
