Summary

This is a great movie for emergency preparedness because it is all about large earthquakes that happen in L.A. and a family trying to find each other and stay safe. The movie shows people getting away from falling objects and dropping to take cover. It is a fun educational tool that can help get students engaged.

Core Integration

The way that I would incorporate this into a core topic would be, after watching a video clip, learning about earthquakes and doing earthquake drills, the students would then write a narrative paper on a fictional child being in an earthquake. The teacher would help students edit and rewrite as needed.
