This site is a well known and highly valuable website for informing teachers on digital citizenship topics and aiding in lesson planning. There are a wide variety of digital citizenship and social media effects topics for teachers to educate themselves on and create lessons around. All information is adjustable for the needs and purposes of the teacher and free to access. The site is also up to date and relevant to the current issues surrounding media and children.
Core Integration:
To integrate social media safety into core lessons, information could be provided during reading and writing times. Students could be provided with articles to read about healthy social media habits and health outcomes. This would allow practice with general reading comprehension and practice with reading informational texts. Students could then also be prompted to practice synthesizing information by coming information they have learned into an informational article of their own.
