      • This is a great app for students to use in both the classroom and at home. It is appropriate for individual and group use. It might not be ideal for use as a quiet free time activity while other students are finishing up their work if students choose to use the yoga videos. This would be a fun resource to use as a whole class if space allows, specifically in the morning, after a break or at the end of the day. A fantastic resource for students that need to take a moment to relax or to get their wiggles out.
    • Providing a summary explaining the purposes and features of the app, specifically related to your health topic.
    • Because the world is drastically changing for our students and they are experiencing increasing amounts of stress, it is vital that they learn new techniques on how to process their feelings. Cosmic Kids provides a space for students to explore, relax and have fun. This app is a library full of yoga and meditation videos. Both of these activities have been shown to aid in stress relief.
    • It is also a great resource for kids at home if they have access to a device and internet.
    • Here is a short video about Cosmic Kids

Core Integration:

    • A health lesson that talks about stress reduction. This lesson would connect yoga and meditation with stress relief and mindfulness. Yoga is an appropriate 3rd grade PE exercise according to PE standards.
    • A mindfulness, mental health unit can be presented to students where they can learn how to practice healthy habits of dealing with stress like breathing, and meditation.
    • This small mental break practice can be connected to a core science topic by having the students describe how the movements of the yoga circuit made their body and mind feel through objects. The teacher can provide fun, interactive examples that could be used to describe how students felt throughout the activity. For example, a slinky or pipe cleaner can be objects that are used for the example.
