Description:
This fun fitness scavenger hunt is geared towards getting students up and moving while working in groups of 3-5. Each group gets one worksheet to complete together. The teams move around the gym completing each task given. Place boxes of crayons around the perimeter so once the task is complete they get to color in the space (have students take turns coloring in the space). Each group member must complete the entire task in order to move on. The great part about this lesson is that it can be changed and used anytime in the year. The scavenger hunts could have a seasonal theme as well. For this particular lesson some prerequisite skills prior to this would be; push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, skipping, galloping, and then any other fitness skills that you wish to include. Moving around the gym and monitoring will help you see if students are completing the space accurately and if the students are working as a team to encourage and complete.
ASSESSMENT: Some of the ideas suggested in this lesson were listening to students naming the fruits and veggies and then for tasks that have to do with the bones having the students come to the teacher and get the okay completion. Another is to constantly walk around and listen to what the students are saying to see if they are understanding.

PE- This scavenger hunt can be done in the gym or outside if weather permits. It can be changed to fit a theme or be completed individually in teams, each person would then need their own worksheet.
Math- Giving the students a math scavenger hunt that requires them to solve problems that gives them the total times they must complete a fitness skill. To best involve this lesson in the classroom, plan for adequate space.
Health- Already included in the worksheet are ways of incorporating health, naming fruits and veggies. Pointing to 4 different bones on your body. These tasks can be changed moving through health lessons making learning more interactive and moving.
